Ice Rink Canary Wharf
To kick off the festive season, it’s time for some classic winter fun with some ice skating at the Ice Rink Canary Wharf.
The festive season is off to a fun start with the annual Christmas Faire at Lady Yeya’s school. The school transformed into a little winter wonderland. There were Christmas stalls, helter skelter, Rocking Rudolph, Santa’s Grotto, minced pies, mulled wine, and lots (lots!) of chocolate.
Ice Skating Fun
Then it was on to some classic winter fun with some ice skating at the Ice Rink Canary Wharf. For the second year, the Class Reps organised a special ice skating session to mark the holiday season. There are so many iconic ice rinks around London – Somerset House, Queens House (Greenwich), and Glide at the Battersea Power Station, but we always go to the Ice Rink Canary Wharf. Canary Wharf is very convenient to get to from southeast London. Accessible either via the DLR or via the Jubilee Line, but most importantly, the ice rink is covered. This means we don’t have to worry about the elements such as wind and rain. Plus, Ice Rink Canary Wharf has a good family deal as well as a group discount for 30 people or more.
With some 40 parents and kiddo on the ice rink, it was fun to see everyone get into the festive spirit. We even had a small cheerleading crew from the Grand Stand Bar. The kids had a blast! Beautiful memories to cherish forever.
Festive Cheers at Market Hall
Like last year, we went to Market Hall for some food and festive cheers. Located at 25 North Colonnade, Market Hall is great for big groups. It is spacious and modern with floor to ceiling windows with ample seating. With eight different restaurants – Sexy Bun, Black Bear, Le Bab, Baozi Inn, Inamo Sukoshi, DF Tacos, Gopal’s Corner, and Butchies – there is something for everyone. The Y1 crew found a nice corner area overlooking the docks with a long high bar table. The parents even got to enjoy a festive drink or two whilst the kids sat doing arts and crafts. A win!
It was a lovely way to kick off the festive season! Tis the season to be Merry & Bright!
