Advent Season 2025
Advent Sunday marks the beginning of the holiday season. Hope, peace, joy, and love as we wait in anticipation.
Advent season is upon us—a joyful time to reflect on hope, peace, joy, and love as we count down the days to Christmas.
Beginning on Advent Sunday, the four weeks before Christmas remind us of the adventus—the “arrival”—we eagerly await. In our home, Advent is always full of joyful moments. To keep the season peaceful, Kenz insists we finish decorating before Advent Sunday.

- The Christmas tree sparkles with heirloom baubles and special ornaments.
- The windows glow with a lattice of lights bringing some joy for those who walk by.
- The handsome hand-carved Fontanini nativity scene rests beside the tree in quiet anticipation.
- The Dickens village bustles with merriment, echoing the festive spirit of the season.
As part of our family tradition, each of us has an Advent calendar—filled with sweets, toys, or in my case, a Fortnum & Mason gin box! And let’s not forget about Buddy’s doggy treat advent calendar. Each week we pause to reflect on love, peace, joy, and hope, weaving meaning into the countdown to Christmas.
In the spirit of anticipation, we look forward to end‑of‑term celebrations: the Christmas performance, Winter Faire, Festive Jumper Day, and joyful children waiting for Santa to come down the chimney. Likewise, at work, there are performance reviews, end-of-year-comm, office “do”, and festive lunches. We look forward to hosting friends for drinks and nibbles, sharing laughter as the holiday season unfolds.
In the midst of the busyness of life, advent is a reminder to slow down and reflect on our blessings. It is a season of togetherness, tradition, and light.
