Ayubowan Sri Lanka

Happy New Year Everyone! Wishing you all the very best for 2012!

Kenz and I have the good fortune of ringing in the New Year in different cities over the past decade: Tokyo (’03); San Francisco (’04); Los Angeles (’05); Cairo (’06); Hong Kong (’07); Mumbai (’08); London (’09) St. Petersburg (’10); Jerusalem (’11) and this year was no exception. We had a low-key, and by far the quirkest New Year’s Eve ever, in the little town of Ella in Sri Lanka (more on that later).

Sri Lanka was amazing! With the civil war well in the past, Sri Lanka’s tourism is booming, and for good reasons. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country. For a nation roughly the size of West Virgina, the island packs incredible variety of attractions from ancient temples, picturesque tea plantations, lovely hill towns, stunning natural beauty, gorgeous national parks, historic ports, and idyllic beaches. We have many stories and photos to share, but for now here’s a sneak peek of our two-week adventure in Sri Lanka.
