Happy New Year 2010!

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and Happy New Year! Like last year, we had a quiet Christmas in Clapham…Christmas pints, rib roast, The Wire, and beautiful blue skies. We meant to write a holiday post before we left for Russia, but got caught up with Skyping with our families in California and Hong Kong past our bedtime. Kenz and I wish you all a beautiful and healthy year ahead! Looking forward to an awesome 2010!

We’re back from our annual post-Christmas travels — this year to Berlin, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Helsinki, or as I like to call it our ‘Winter Wonderland’/’Cold War’ Tour. I know what you guys are thinking…we’re crazy to travel to Russia in the dead of winter, right? I know, I thought so too!

To avoid a Beijing Winter 2007 Redux where I nearly got frost bites on my toes (ok, maybe an exaggeration, but I can’t stand below freezing temperatures in the 20s), Kenz and I got new Northface down parkas, Uniqlo base layers, SmartWool socks, and Karrimor snow boots in preparation for the brutal Russian winters. It was cold, but so worth it! Definitely an adventure that we will never forget especially for Kenz who always wanted to see snow-clad Kremlin and the ballet in Russia!!

Until my fingers thaw out, I will leave you with our favorite photos from our trip.

More to come soon!

HAPPY 2010!
