Happy Halloween from Darth Vader

May the Fright Be with You! Happy Halloween from Darth Vader and Family!

Halloween in London is a quieter affair compared to the full-throttle festivities across the pond in America. In the U.S., mid-September marks the arrival of candy-filled aisles, haunted front yards, and the unmistakable scent of pumpkin spice wafting through every Starbucks London, by contrast, offers a more understated—but no less enchanting—experience. Think misty graveyards, historic palaces with ghostly lore, and the perfect gloomy weather to set the scene.

Growing up in suburban California, Halloween was a highlight of the year. From pumpkin patches and baking sessions to trick-or-treating and spooky-themed birthday parties, it was a season of pure joy and anticipation. Those special memories continue to inspire how we celebrate today.

For us, Halloween is all about creating magical moments for Lady Yeya and her friends. Each year, we host a cozy gathering filled with festive food, fizzy drinks, and—of course—an abundance of candy. Indoors, the house glows with autumnal warmth and coziness. Outside, it transforms into a haunted haven of cobwebs, creepy crawlies, and glowing jack-o’-lanterns. This year, Kenz added a delightful Halloween village, complete with animated scenes, twinkling lights, and spooky sound effects that bring the spirit of the season to life in a miniature form.

And then there’s Darth Vader!

This year, he made his grand return to M Street in a Hollywood-grade costume that arrived in its own suitcase. His look—part sci-fi legend, part samurai warrior—features the iconic helmet, flowing black cloak, and glowing red lightsaber. When he opened the door to trick-or-treaters, there were no words—just the deep, mechanical breathing that sent shivers down spines and squeals of delight from kids and adults alike.

So this Halloween, whether you’re in London or San Francisco, May the Fright Be With You. Until next year… Happy Halloween from Darth Vader and Family!
